Michael Dörner, HKS Ottersberg

Michael Dörner works as Professor for Fine Arts at the
University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Ottersberg (HKS) since 2008.

He studied Fine Arts at the University of Arts (HfbK) in Hamburg
with Erhard Walther, Stanley Brouwn and Lawrence Weiner.
Dörner's work is focused on public art.

Michael Dörner received the award of “Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes”,
the New York Foreign Grant of Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes
and the Hamburg Artist Working Grant.
He was honored with the Piepenbrock Young Talent Award 1994 for sculpture
as well as with the Edwin-Scharff Award offered by the City of Hamburg.

Michael Dörner's sculpture and installation is visible in public space:
f. e. in Kiel, München, Göppingen or Dresden.
Furthermore his work has been represented in national and international solo shows plus group exhibitions.
